For your info, this operation work for the fourth and fifth generations of the Kia Optima (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years).
2014-2018 Kia Optima
Time needed: 3 minutes

Switch the ignition to the on position without starting your engine
Then you’re gonna be looking at the display and you’re gonna push this ❏ menu button until you get to the �� wrench icon
Find the service reminder by using the ▲/▼ up or down button
Once the service minder is displayed you’re gonna push the OK button and hold it down until the light resets
How To Adjust Service Interval
- Put on the ignition
- Use the ❏ menu button and you need to go through the menus on the dash you get to the ⚙️ gear symbol
- Then use the arrows and you need to go down to SERVICE INTERVAL and hit OK
- Then so if it’s reminding you of the service interval the little thing right there should be check marked and from here we can change the distance and time for the next service interval
2019-2021 Kia Optima
- Turn the key to the on position but don’t start it
- Then we’re gonna go ahead and use the steering wheel functions here. We’re gonna push this here this button here on the right side until we get to the ⚙️ USER SETTINGS
- Next, we’re going to scroll down using this ▼ button here until we get to the SERVICE INTERVAL and then we press OK
- After that, we’re going to scroll down until we get to the RESET and then press the OK button
- When it says reset time and distance you just select YES by pressing OK

1. Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine
2. Press and hold the TRIP button until USER SETTINGS appears on the display
3. Select MAINTENANCE by using the TRIP button to scroll and press the RESET button to select the menu
4. Select ENGINE OIL
5. In this menu you can set an engine oil reminder at a specific interval

2. If “SERVICE REQUIRED” is displayed, then reset by pressing the “RESET” button for more than 1 second.
3. Press the “TRIP” button to select “SERVICE COMPLETE, RESET”.
4. Turn ignition off.

4. You can move to items by pressing the TRIP button and select the desired item by pressing the RESET button.

About KIA Optima
Since the year 2000, Kia has been producing a mid-size car known as the Kia K5, which was formerly known as the Kia Optima. This car has been marketed globally under a variety of nameplates. Although the first generation of cars were primarily marketed under the name Optima, the name Kia Magentis was used in Europe and Canada when sales began in those regions in the year 2002. Kia used the names Kia Lotze and Kia K5 for the second-generation models that were sold in South Korea.
