What are Content Credentials?
Content Credentials allow creators to attach extra information to their content when they export or download it. By including this information, creators can receive more recognition for their work, connect with others online, and enhance transparency for their audience. How to use Content Credentials in Photoshop
Enable Content Credentials
To enable and start recording a Content Credential for your document, go to Window > Content Credentials (Beta) . A panel should appear where you can click Enable Content Credentials to display further settings. Alternatively, right-click on any open document tab and select Enable Content Credentials .
You can also enable Content Credentials by default for all new documents or documents with existing Content Credentials by going to Preferences > History & Content Credentials > Content Credentials Document Settings . We recommend selecting Enable for new and saved documents with Content Credentials to ensure that edits and actions taken to produce your content are captured from start to finish. This way, if you include this info with your Content Credentials, it will be as complete and helpful as possible to people viewing your content.
A Content Credential is only included with an image when Content Credentials have been enabled on the associated document and you choose to attach or publish a Content Credential when exporting the image in File > Export > Export As.
To adjust the information you want to include in an individual document’s Content Credential, go to Window > Content Credentials (Beta) and select the required information in the Content Credentials (Beta) settings panel that opens.
Preview your Content Credentials
An individual document’s associated Content Credential can be previewed before export using the Content Credentials icon in the Panels bar or going to Window > Content Credentials (Beta) to display the Content Credentials (Beta) settings panel and select Preview .
Based on your settings, the following info will appear:
- Producer : the name listed on your Adobe account
- Produced with : the application or device used to produce the final image
- Edits and activity : the editing and processing actions taken to produce the final image
- Assets : the other pieces of content used to produce the final image
- Signed by : the organization responsible for issuing the Content Credential and recording the information within in a valid way
Export your work with Content Credentials
Once you are ready to export your work with its associated Content Credential, go to File > Export > Export As to review your export settings. In the Content Credentials (Beta) section, you can choose how to include a Content Credential with your exported image:
- Publish to Content Credentials cloud : This keeps file size smaller and allows your file’s Content Credential to be more resilient. If it is ever stripped from your content, it can be recovered with Verify. In Verify, your published Content Credential may appear as a possible match for content that is visually similar to your own.
- Adobe’s Content Credentials cloud is a public, persistent storage solution for your Content Credentials, separate from the cloud file storage included in your Adobe plan.
- If you find that your content’s Content Credentials are missing after publishing online, the publishing platform likely does not yet support Content Credentials. If you publish your Content Credentials to the Content Credentials cloud, they can be recovered on Verify.
You can set any of these options as your default Export As setting in Preferences > History & Content Credentials > Content Credentials (Beta): Document Settings .
Supported File Types
Content Credentials can currently be included with the following file types when exporting from Photoshop:
- JPG
- PNG
Minimum and recommended system requirements for Content Credentials
- Internet connection
- Creative Cloud or Photoshop subscription
- Processors
- Mac Intel/ARM
- Windows Intel
- Mac 10.15.7, 11, or later
- Windows 10 (64-bit) version 1809 or later
- Two most recent versions of these browsers for Mac & PC: Chrome, Firefox
- These versions depend on your device’s operating system
- Mac only: Safari
- PC only: Microsoft Edge

Content Credentials | Known issues
Content Credentials (Beta) is still in development, so the following features in Photoshop aren’t fully supported yet:
A Photoshop document’s Content Credential preview, or an exported file’s Content Credential, indicates that some edits or activity may not have been recorded.
This may occur when:
- A document is edited while Content Credentials is disabled
- Content Credentials loaded after Photoshop or crashed
- A document is edited across multiple devices, apps, or users
- A 3rd party script or plugin is used
Once you have enabled Content Credentials for a document, ensure they remain enabled throughout the editing process to capture a complete record of edits and activity used to produce your content. If Content Credentials is enabled for a document, becomes disabled either through your selection, loading after Photoshop, or crashing, and is then re-enabled, an indication of missing edits or activity is likely to appear in the document’s Content Credentials. This cannot be undone.
For non-PSD or PSDC files, converting to a PSD or PSDC file before editing on other devices or apps may help avoid this issue. Making all changes on the same device, with the same user account, is the simplest way to avoid this issue.
3rd party scripts and plugins aren’t supported by Content Credentials at this time, and their use may result in a message about missing edit or activity information in your Content Credentials.
Unable to export with Content Credentials while offline.
Exporting with Content Credentials while offline is currently not supported. Make sure you are connected to the internet before trying to export a file with a Content Credential.
Unable to Export As layers or artboards.
There is no workaround for this issue as these actions are currently unsupported.
Mac OS file permission issues: Unable to use Content Credentials, or Content Credentials is unable to read or update a file.
When opening Adobe Photoshop for the first time, the following pop-up message appears:
If you selected Don’t Allow , you will not be able to enable Content Credentials on your documents until you:

Navigate to your computer’s System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Files and Folders > cai-helper.
Allow access to the folder by checking the items listed below cai-helper.
File exported but its Content Credential couldn’t be published or attached.
A Content Credential may not be able to be published or attached after exporting a file from Photoshop:
- Due to insufficient file or folder permissions. Follow the steps listed above for Mac OS file permission issues.
- Due to connection issues between the Content Credentials feature and another service. There is no workaround for this other than trying again later.
- Due to losing internet connection during export. Check your internet connection and try again.
Due to document changes still processing. Wait for all document changes to finish processing before trying again.
Due to some other error. You can try exporting again, but the same error may occur.
Content Credentials unavailable for Education plan users.
Education plan users should be able to access Content Credentials soon after it exits Beta and becomes generally available in Photoshop.
Content Credentials unavailable for Enterprise plan users.
Enterprises must currently be added to an access list to use Content Credentials. Ask your admin to request access for new Enterprise users.
Choosing a name to include as Producer when there are two or more collaborators on a file.
Content Credentials currently only supports listing the name of the one person exporting a file as the Producer.
Make sure the person whose name you want to appear in the Producer section of your Content Credentials exports the file when there are multiple editors and you want to include a Producer name.
Content Credentials features don’t appear in my chosen language in Photoshop.
Content Credentials content in Photoshop will display in English if Photoshop is set to a language not supported by Content Credentials.
Currently supported languages: English, German, French, and Japanese.

This drag-to-delete method works in all versions of Mac OS X. Most 3rd party apps can be smoothly uninstalled in that way, but you cannot delete built-in apps by doing this. Some apps installed using the Mac package installer will prompt you for a password when you try to move it to the Trash. In any case you cannot move iCal Helper 1.0 to the Trash or empty the Trash, try holding the Option key as you choose Empty Trash from the Finder menu, or reboot your Mac and try it again later.

This tap-and-hold method is applicable for the apps installed through the App Store, and it requires OS X lion or later. Once you click the X icon, the uninstallation of iCal Helper 1.0 will be handled immediately, and there is no need to empty the Trash afterwards. This way cannot uninstall built-in apps as well.
Option 3: Launch iCal Helper 1.0 built-in uninstaller

Hi all, so I have a new macbok pro with an m1 processor so I needed to reinstall photoshop. Yesterday I installed adobe cc on a 7 day free trial and used the method described here to get photoshop 2021:
(I tried and failed several different methods and can't remember for definite which method worked for me, I'm 99% sure it was the above one though)
But then I noticed an app installed on my computer called cai-helper. I can't open it or anything. So I was googling it to try and figure out what it was and came across this
It's a content authenticity tool, from what I gather it's to stop fake images from circulating but I just want to check that that's right? Cos my initial assumption was that this is tool to prevent people who acquiring photoshop "illegally".
My question is is this app going to be a problem? Any help is appreciated

Приветствую друзья! Сегодня тема — процесс/программа helper.exe, моя задача — предоставить вам максимально подробную инфу о процессе простыми словами. Обещаю — грузить не будуhelper.exe — что это такое?
helper.exe — процесс, который может принадлежать разному софт, так как название очень общее. Само слово helper.exe означает помощь, точнее даже помощник.
В каких случаях процесс может висеть в диспетчере? Например:
- Была запущена справка в какой-то программе.
- Запущен помощник. Например по настройке проги, по подсказкам как пользоваться программой.
- К сожалению helper.exe может являться и вирусом. Особенно если в диспетчере кушает ресурсы ПК — грузит процессор, много использует оперативы. Тогда нужно проверить комп антивирусными утилитами (далее скажу какими).
helper.exe — от какой проги может быть?
Пример софта, к которому может иметь отношение процесс helper.exe:
- Например в папке браузера Firefox внутри может быть папка uninstall, а внутри файл helper.exe и предположительно он нужен для ассоциаций, а может и для удаления Firefox. Поэтому точно определить к какой проге имеет отношение helper.exe — невозможно. Оказалось что и к почтовой проге Thunderbird также может иметь отношение.
- Другой вариант — в папке торрент-качалки uTorrent также может быть helper.exe в папке helper. Возможно сейчас его уже нет, но был в версии uTorrent 3.5.5. Здесь helper.exe может коннектится в сеть, один юзер ему запретил выход в сеть при помощи фаервола, так после этого процесс оставался висеть в оперативке. Кстати писали об этом на форуме — мол этот процесс в uTorrent представляет из себя майнер (крипто-вирус), правда или нет — неизвестно..
- Информации не находил, но helper.exe спокойно может встречаться в софте Adobe. Да и вообще в крупном софте, например в том же Офисе..
Один пользователь написал — иногда жесткий диск компа начинает шуршать сильно. В процессах наиболее активен helper.exe. Вывод — вирус реально может маскироваться под данный процесс, поэтому проверка антивирусными утилитами — очень желательна.
Также helper.exe может быть в проге Mozilla Thunderbird — клиент от Мозиллы по работе с почтой. Располагается обычно здесь:
В одном из самых браузеров — Palemoon также может быть файл helper.exe, размещается как правило здесь:
Один человек скачал ПО After Effects, после установки — антивирус удаляет какой-то helper.exe.. видимо тот, который на самом деле является активатором After Effects. Поэтому и удаляет — активаторы часто содержат вирусный код, уже молчу о том что это вообще незаконно…
У некоторых юзеров поведение helper.exe и правда странное, вызывает подозрение на вирус..
Бывает что файл располагается по такому пути:
Расположение странное — папка Roaming особо любима всякими вирусами и зловредами. Кстати по поводу этой папки — нашел на форумах упоминание, что если файл находится именно здесь, то это скорее всего вирус
План действий — мои рекомендации
Информации в интернете толковой очень мало. Я дам свои советы что вам делать, так как считаю что с ситуацией нужно разобраться
Рекомендую такой план действий:
- Вручную проверить откуда запускается процесс helper.exe — посмотреть название папки, по которому постараться найти инфу в интернетах.
- Проверить антивирусными утилитами. Я дам три утилиты, которые лучшие, проверить нужно всеми тремя — так как они находят разные вирусы.
- Если вирусов не будет найдено, а процесс висит или даже грузит проц — тогда стоит принудительно отключить, об этом также напишу.
Еще очень советую проанализировать автозагрузку. Используйте для этого AnVir Task Manager — бесплатная утилита, показывает тучу инфы об автозагрузке из реестра, обычной, отображает задания в планировщике и многое другое. Реально годнота.
Откуда запускается процесс? Диспетчер Windows 10 либо Windows 7 позволяет узнать папку запуска процесса. Вот пример — откройте диспетчер, активируйте вкладку с процессами, найдите процесс.. пусть это будет explorer.exe, нажмите по нему правой кнопкой — выберите пункт Открыть расположение файла:
В результате откроется папка, откуда и запускается процесс — у меня открылась системная (файл будет выделен):
Именно оттуда и происходит запуск explorer.exe (кстати это оболочка виндовская, другими словами программа проводник).
Таким образом узнаете откуда идет запуск helper.exe, напомню — обратите внимание на название папки, оно может подсказать от какой проги процесс…
Какими антивирусными утилитами проверить ПК?
Вышеперечисленными утилитами вообще нужно регулярно проверять ПК. Поверьте мне — они реально лучшие и самые эффективные. ПК не грузят, работают относительно быстро, особенно AdwCleaner и HitmanPro.
Как принудительно отключить процесс? Почти безопасно, однако перед — все таки посоветую вам создать точку восстановления, мало ли.
На Android появился неудаляемый троян xHelper. Что с ним делать
Несмотря на то что в понимании большинство пользователей вирус и троян – это одно и то же, на самом деле между ними огромная разница. Троян, в отличие от вирусов, которые действуют в автоматическом режиме, практически не имеет шансов попасть на устройство жертвы без активных действий с её стороны. Поэтому злоумышленники обычно их встраивают в добросовестные, на первый взгляд, программы, чтобы отвлечь внимание пользователей. Получается, что если троян попал на ваше устройство, виноваты в этом именно вы. Другое дело, что иногда заразить свой гаджет трояном бывает куда проще, чем от него избавиться.

По данным экспертов в области кибербезопасности компании Symantec, пользователям Android угрожает троян xHelper, который заражает примерно по 2500 устройств ежемесячно, охватывая США, Индию и Россию. А, попав на устройство жертвы, интегрируется в систему и начинает демонстрировать рекламные баннеры в Пункте уведомлений.
Что делает xHelper
К счастью, сообщают эксперты, xHelper, в отличие от большинства аналогов, не собирает конфиденциальных данных своих жертв и не ворует их сбережений. Тем не менее, вездесущие объявления, которые троян встраивает в системные элементы, могут раздражать, пожалуй, не меньше, чем лаги или преждевременная разрядка, которые провоцируют программы-майнеры. Тем не менее, обычно adware – вредоносные приложения, встраивающие рекламу в интерфейс операционной системы, — довольно легко удаляются с инфицированных устройств. Но не xHelper.
Оказывается, из-за хитрого механизма установки xHelper нельзя удалить с устройства штатными средствами. Даже полный сброс аппарата до заводских настроек, который обычно удаляет всю информацию, позволяет трояну удержаться в памяти и переустановиться в автоматическом режиме при повторной загрузке. Как удалить вирус с Android
Впрочем, попытаться всё-таки стоит. Некоторые пользователи утверждают, что им удалось удалить xHelper при помощи платных антивирусных программ. Другое дело, что никаких доказательств того, что они удаляют не только троян, но и его установочный файл, который провоцирует переустановку даже после отката до заводских настроек, у нас нет. Поэтому мы бы не решились рекомендовать вам какой-либо конкретный антивирус, тем более тот, за который придётся платить, оставляя окончательное решение о выборе исключительно на ваше усмотрение.

Со своей стороны можем порекомендовать воспользоваться бесплатным приложением Internet App Blocker (скачать), которое доступно для загрузки в Google Play. Оно позволяет заблокировать соединение любой программы с интернетом, а значит, с его помощью можно фактически запретить работу xHelper, который больше не сможет демонстрировать рекламу. Учитывая, что троян не ворует ваших данных, и это доказанный факт, использование Internet App Blocker может оказаться наиболее эффективным решением, по крайней мере к настоящему моменту, когда более действенных средств борьбы с трояном не существует.

(I tried and failed several different methods and can't remember for definite which method worked for me, I'm 99% sure it was the above one though)
But then I noticed an app installed on my computer called cai-helper. I can't open it or anything. So I was googling it to try and figure out what it was and came across this
It's a content authenticity tool, from what I gather it's to stop fake images from circulating but I just want to check that that's right? Cos my initial assumption was that this is tool to prevent people who acquiring photoshop "illegally".
My question is is this app going to be a problem? Any help is appreciated
