How to trash/delete Adobe Premiere Pro preferences?
It can be really frustrating when Premiere Pro starts misbehaving. One of the most efficient ways to fix this is to reset Premiere Pro preference files. Trashing preferences resets the program to its factory defaults.
Resetting preferences will undo most of your customization — length of your default transitions, brightness of the user interface, labels colors, changes that you’ve made to your audio hardware settings and more. Some changes won’t be affected though — changes that you’ve made to memory allocation for Premiere Pro and other Adobe apps, new workspaces that you’ve created and some other stuff. It’s worth noting that changes that you’ve made to existing workspaces (such as resizing panels and moving them) will be reset to defaults.
Preferences that you set for scratch disks, however, are saved with your projects. Whenever you open a project, it automatically defaults to the scratch disks you selected for it when you set up that project.
Here is how you can reset the preferences:
Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while launching Premiere Pro. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.
To reset preferences and plug-in cache at the same time, hold down Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. Release the Shift-Alt keys or Shift-Option key when the splash screen appears.
Your Premiere Pro preferences are reset correctly if you don’t see the list of your recent projects on the Welcome Screen the next time you launch Premiere Pro.
NOTE: Your project files are not deleted; it’s just that Premiere Pro’s recent directories are wiped off too. Navigate to your project location and open it from there.

Зачем сбрасывать настройки?
Один из способов устранения неполадок в Premiere Pro — сброс настроек. При сбросе настроек программа сбрасывается к заводским настройкам.
В результате сброса настроек будет отменена большая часть того, что было выбрано вами по собственному усмотрению, в том числе:
- длина переходов по умолчанию;
- яркость пользовательского интерфейса;
- цвета меток;
- настройки аудиооборудования;
- изменения рабочей среды (например, изменение размера и перемещение панелей) и т. п.
Однако настройки, заданные для рабочих дисков, сохраняются вместе с проектами. Проекту при открытии автоматически назначаются рабочие диски по умолчанию, заданные для него во время начальной настройки.
Как сбросить настройки?
Прежде чем сбросить настройки вручную, создайте их резервную копию, так как ваши действия повлияют на некоторые пользовательские настройки, такие как сочетания клавиш, рабочие среды и настройки стиля.
Сброс настроек помогает устранить проблемы, способные влиять на работу Premiere Pro:
Запустите Premiere Pro и удерживайте любую клавишу-модификатор, включая Command , Option , Shift (macOS) либо Ctrl , Alt или Shift (Windows). Также вы можете открыть нужный раздел через диалоговое окно Настройки .
Если вы открыли диалоговое окно Сброс параметров , удерживая клавишу-модификатор, выберите необходимые параметры и нажмите кнопку Продолжить , чтобы выполнить указанные действия и продолжить процесс запуска.

После выбора кнопки OK отобразится диалоговое окно подтверждения, содержащее конкретные параметры, выбранные в предыдущем диалоговом окне.
Выберите OK для подтверждения, после чего при следующем ручном перезапуске Premiere Pro будут обработаны параметры, выбранные в диалоговом окне Сброс параметров .
Закройте Premiere Pro, перейдите к папке настроек и переименуйте эту папку или переместите ее.
По умолчанию папка настроек находится здесь:

Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing program based non-linear editor (NLE) from Adobe Systems. Adobe Premiere Pro is a video processing program of choice for professionals, especially those who like to experiment. The program is widely used by film maker / soap opera, Broadcasting, and television. Adobe Premiere Pro has about 45 video effects and 12 audio effects, which could be to change the pattern display and animate video and audio clips. Some effects require high quality graphics card. A faster way to delete preference file is to hold down the ALT key while you launch Adobe Premiere.
If you want to delete the preference files manually:
- Windows: UserFolder>Documents>Adobe>AdobeProductName (like Premiere Pro)
- Mac: UserFolder>Documents>Adobe>AdobeProductName

How to Reset Adobe Premiere Pro Preferences to Default Settings
To reset Adobe Premiere Pro preferences to the default settings:
- Hold down: Alt/Options on Mac or Alt on (Windows).
- Keep holding down the Alt key, and click on the Premiere Pro app icon to open it.
- In a few seconds, it asks you “Are you sure you want to reset your preferences?”. Click OK.
Now when Premiere Pro is opens up, it has been reset to the factory settings, and look exactly as when you opened it up the first time.
