Star Worm Equestrian
Star Worm Equestrian Mod (SWEM) is the ultimate addition to Minecraft Equestrian. With custom models, tack, animations, armor, decor, and more, SWEM upgrades everything horse-related in Minecraft. The mod features separate gaits, training and bonding, and colored variants of English, Western, and Adventure Tack. Complete with saddle, bridle, and armor racks, SWEM also includes pasture blankets and armored pasture blankets in 16 colors, 112 coats in game, functional armor with wings, and even foals.
The food and water systems in SWEM are functional and include feeders, buckets, and troughs. Stall doors are also included, along with other surprises that await discovery. The custom animated horse model and player showcase the beauty and functionality of SWEM. Walk, trot, canter, gallop, and even jump through one of the mod’s 5 levels of jump.
The SWEM team is dedicated to improving the mod and welcomes pull requests for significant changes. They are also working on an official server and modpack, as well as opening commissions for custom coats in-game. Donations to support development and the team can be made through their Ko-fi or to the owner’s PayPal.
SWEM is currently in Phase One, which focuses on upgrading everything horse for survival mode. The upcoming Phase Two will focus on English and Western upgrades, while Phase Three will be based on adventure and feature a prebuild dimension with lore, exploration, new blocks, mobs, mythical equines, and more.
Overall, SWEM is a must-have mod for any Minecraft Equestrian enthusiast. Downloading the mod is easy with forge, and the mod requires geckolib and playeranimator. SWE/M for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition
SWE/M (Star Worm Equestrian / Mods) is a free-to-use collection of mods for the sandbox survival video game Minecraft from Mojang Studios. This utility encompasses every mod created by the Star Worm Equestrian team. These mods strive to achieve a “perfect blend of realism and convenience,” following the theme of equestrianism.
SWE/M and the Star Worm Equestrian team started with AlaharranHonor’s passion for games that featured horses after family problems separated him from a beloved horse named Lucy. AlaharranHonor sought to make destriers out of Minecraft horses, making them more robust, detailed, and immersive.
A comprehensive mod
Originally, this mod’s founder just wanted to upgrade the models and animations and enchant the armor of Minecraft horses. Smaller add-ons such as saddles, bridle racks, feeders, separators, and stall doors were added afterward. The mod eventually grew larger, and so did the number of people working behind it. Now, the mod is composed of projects that are all intended to significantly enhance the experience of equestrianism in the game.
SWLM (Star Worm Lighting Mod) adds a creative alternative to lighting. SWDM (Star Worm Decor Mod) adds 16 color block types, trapdoor variants, etc. SWLVM (Star Worm Livestock Mod) makes agriculture more realistic. SWRRM (Star Worm Realistic Roleplay Mod) allows players to play as a horse. The primary mod, SWEM, greatly expands equestrianism by upgrading horse models, adding more animations, expanding variety, and adding more depth to the gameplay.
This mod collection is one of the biggest out there. Just like every large mod, its installation can be challenging especially if you’re a beginner. The developers have provided guides to simplify the process, but it will take a considerable amount of effort. Moreover, you should also expect to encounter some issues during and after installation, given how comprehensive the mod package is.
Not just for horses
SWE/M — (Star Worm Equestrian / Mods) is more than just a mod for horses. It also includes improvements to lighting and expands decorating opportunities. The realism added to agriculture and the capability to roleplay as a horse further increased the value of its mod collection. It can be challenging to install and maintain, but it’s well worth it. Paired with mods like OptiFine for Minecraft, it can shine even more.

Q: Will you stay in 1.16.5? Will you backport to 1.12 or update to 1.18+?
A: We are currently in 1.16.5 but will soon move onto working on 1.18 and potentially any other future updates. However, we will not be backporting to 1.12 due to a series of development related conflicts and factors.
Q: Will there be a server for the mod?
A: Yes, we are and will be working on an official server and modpack. To hear updates on this, make sure to join or discord linked below or keep up to date on our progress through our website.
Q: Please can I have a custom coat?
A: We will be working on opening commissions for custom coats ingame. These costs have not been finalised, join our discord to hear more.
Q: I have a suggestion for the mod! Where may I contact you?
A: In our discord, we have a channel dedicated to our suggestions. There you may also search for previous suggestions and our plans to instate said suggestions.
Q: What are the phases and what are we on?
A: Phase One is our Adventure Release. Focused on upgrading everything horse for survival mode. Horse model, coats, animations, skill levelling, stable care, training equipment, horse armor, and equestrian decor.
Phase Two is our English/Western Release. Focussed on fluffing equestrian servers with all those pleasantries and upgrades. More saddles, more tack, more horse models, more animations, more decorations, more coats, breeding and genetics, illnesses, and options.
Phase Three is our Alight Release. Did anyone say magic? The biggest and last release will be completely based on adventure. A prebuild dimension with lore, layers of exploration, new blocks, new mobs and mythical equines, and new things to discover.
